Remote Village Hanle

A secluded high-desert settlement of stargazers and Changpa nomads.

Nestled in a vast arid river basin at 4,500 meters in the Changthang, Hanle is an ancient nomadic hamlet crowned by a 17th-century Drukpa monastery and home to India’s pristine Dark Sky Reserve. Surrounded by endless gravel plains and grazing herds of Pashmina goats, it offers an authentic encounter with Ladakh’s remote pastoral soul.
