Namkila Pass

Ascending to 3,700 meters (12,140 ft) on the Srinagar-Leh Highway, Namki La (Pillar of the Sky) crosses through the barren rock ridges of the Zanskar Range. Marked by long lines of prayer flags flapping fiercely in the mountain wind, it presents striking views of ochre canyonlands and signals the gateway into central Ladakh.
